It may seem weird that I am writing about brain training considering that my passion is on technology, but this post does correlate. When I did use Lumosity for a short time, I totally saw improvements upon my memory and other skills. This is a fascinating topic for me because I am and have been a bright kid growing up, so I didn’t think much brain skills could be developed. This does bring up a valid point of whether the technology is actually improving brain skills. Their brain training program has had over 65 million dollars invested in its efforts in order to both improve the brain skills of everybody across the world and assess the effect or ineffect of the technology on brain skills. This is not to mention the more than 10 million downloads of the Lumosity ITunes app, which continually ranks as one of the top in the educational gaming category. Within six years of the launch of, 50 million members have become active. Lumosity was founded in 2005 by three entrepreneurs looking to advance the brains of kids, adults, cancer survivors, etc. A child enjoys playing these games just as much as an adult and the brains of each develop and improve really well. One may think these games are boring, but that is completely false.

Each of these areas can and will be improved just by playing these games that are fun and interactive. They offer a brain training program of more than 40 games spanning the areas of attention, memory, flexibility, speed of processing, and problem solving. It has both an online format for use and a portable device format to use on the go. Lumosity is a brain training application designed and developed by the neuroscience research company, Lumosity. Ever since, it has grown to be one of the most popular applications on android, apple, portable devices, and computers. I could not stand not being able to continue without paying for the full version. Starting around four years ago, I began using the free app version. Over the past few years I have gotten to see this app grow to become extremely popular, and it is healthy for people despite the fact that you are staring at a screen using it.

I am passionate about cool products, but nothing for me beats a great application.
